I’m a bit of an old fashioned lady. Not only do I set my novels and novellas in the American Old West, I continue with etiquette I believe should never be lost. Things like handwritten birthday cards a child can hold in their hands. Bearing a stamp and a paper envelope.

I savor sentiments written by my living grandmother, who recently turned ninety-nine. I enjoy making the images for such cards in Photoshop Elements (PSE), uploading for printing on a card or upon photo paper. My favorite trick is to affix a 4×6-inch photo to a 5×7-inch plain greeting card. How?  With two-sided sticky squares. Ta-da! Personalized cards to send to friends and loved ones.

Image I created with a combination of clip art and fonts I purchased. My own design! Grandma loved it enough to ask for a new one to write to her best friend, also living, also age ninety-nine.

I’ve used so much clip art in my earlier days, and continue to love it for its ease and simplicity. No matter if you use Photoshop, Canva, MixBook, or any other photo manipulation software (on your computer or on the internet), my simple clip art will facilitate your making of hand-crafted images for snail-mail birthday cards or for spicing up an email wishing your sister a happy anniversary.
